FilmPlus is a streaming app (APK) that offers access to free movies and TV shows. We review this app and provide installation instructions in the following step-by-step tutorial below.
FilmPlus is a fork of Terrarium TV which is known as the most popular APK of all time in the cord-cutting space. Terrarium was shut down years ago but duplicates such as this still exist.
It provides high-quality links for Movies and Shows and has added features which we discuss in detail below. This powerful Movie APK has continued to provide users with a fabulous media experience and we expect it to continue.
The current version of the FilmPlus app is V2.2.7r which was released on May 9, 2025. The latest release now requires access to storage permissions as pictured below.
You can easily enable this within the permission settings of your device.
In this guide, we will install FilmPlus on the new Fire TV Stick 4K Max. But you can follow along on any device you prefer and this includes all variations of Firestick/Fire TV as well as Android and Google Boxes which are continuing to gain popularity.

Use the steps below to download FilmPlus on your device with APKTime which is a popular app store alternative that keeps media apps up to date.
After doing this, we can easily use Downloader to “sideload” APKTime which hosts FilmPlus & more.
1. Launch Downloader.
2. Hover over the URL Bar and click the select button on your remote.
3. Type the GuardianTV Toolbox Downloader Code – 250931 and click Go.
4. You will then encounter a Redirect Page.
5. You are then met with the GuardianTV Toolbox home screen.
6. Scroll down to find APKTime and click Download.
7. Click Install.
8. You will then encounter APKTime Ready to launch! message. Click Done.
9. Select Delete to remove the APKTime installation file.
10. Click Delete Again.
1. Return to the GuardianTV Toolbox and scroll down to find BPlayer and click Download.
(BPlayer is a video player that is required in order to stream content)
2. Click Install.
3. You will then encounter BPlayer Ready to launch! message. Click Done.
4. Click Delete to remove BPlayer installation file.
5. Click Delete again.
1. Return to the home screen of your device and hover over Settings to select My Fire TV.
2. Choose Developer Options.
3. Click Install Unknown Apps.
4. Turn APKTime Unknown Sources to ON.
1. Return to Your Apps and Launch APKTime APK.
2. Click the search button located in the upper right-hand corner.
3. Type FilmPlus and click Next.
4. Scroll down to find FilmPlus Official and click Download.
NOTE: We recommend using the official app and not modded apps for various reasons which we discuss below.
5. Click Install.
6. You will then encounter FilmPlus Ready to launch! message.
While there are other “modded” versions of this available that provide ad-free content, we often suggest avoiding these.
They may contain malware and oftentimes provide various features that do not work properly. Your best bet is to opt for the official version and eliminate ads using the guide below.
To set up FilmPlus we will use Surfshark VPN which will remove all ads within the application. Upon launching the app, you will likely notice banner ads at the bottom of the screen.
You will also encounter video ads that play after exiting playback of any Movie or TV Show.
1. If you see ads at the bottom of your screen, you can easily get rid of this with Surfshark.
2. Launch the Surfshark App and select Features.
3. Enable the CleanWeb feature to remove ads.
4. Return to the application to see that your ads are instantly removed.

Unfortunately, we have found that even with Real-Debrid or Premiumize integrated, there are not that many HD links available.
However, the developers do continually update this application so hopefully we will see better performance with Real-Debrid in the future.
With the official application, there are also intrusive ads, including on-screen ads and video ads that you will encounter when you exit playback of a Movie or TV Show.
One thing to note regarding FilmPlus is that this app does not allow for external video player usage.

It’s important to scan these free streaming APKs for viruses since these aren’t vetted by a reputable 3rd party such as Amazon App Store or Google Play.

However, this does not mean we shouldn’t protect ourselves when streaming content from this unverified app.
The best way to do this is with a VPN that will secure your identity and anonymity when using FilmPlus or other applications.

Currently, this application provides both Free and Paid links with premium links not populating very well.
This is why we suggest this free app for those who do not have a premium service and those who do will likely want to opt for an alternative APK for Movies and TV Shows.

There is no way to determine if 3rd party applications like this have the proper licensing to broadcast content supplied.
It appears as though FilmPlus is distributing copyrighted content with permission from the owner. However, viewing titles within the public domain is legal and users should only watch these films/shows with this application.
